Peachtree Lower Field Lights

Peachtree Lower Field Lights

Peachtree was able to purchase and install lights on the lower field to continue to support the needs of our growing league.  This purchase was made possible through the generous contributions from the Crozet community.  Peachtree coaches will utilize the guidelines below to help manage the lights at the lower field to continue to be a positive community partner.

·     We have built the schedule to allow for a practice and a game on the days when we need to utilize the lights.

Field practice those days will start at 5pm and last until 6.45.  Coaches are welcome to delay the start if they desire but must be complete by 6.45.  You will have one cage until 6pm.  You can return to the cages once the teams move to the field.

BP practices will start at 6. You will have one cage and the cages have lights.

Teams for the game should warm up as per usual outside the fence prior to the game.

Teams for the game will share one of the cages beginning at 6pm.  The other is used by the team scheduled for BP.

At 6.45, the teams who have the game can move to the field to line it and prep it.  The team who had practice should assist in making sure its prepared (drug after practice, etc).

The game should begin at 7.

When we have games under the lights, they are scheduled to automatically come on at sunset. Game lengths under the lights are 1.45 for Major/Minor and 1.30 for Rookie level divisions.  Cannot start a new inning after these times have passed.

Lights are programmed to cut off at 10pm.  Everyone should be clear of the field with it cleaned up appropriately, drug, etc. well before 10.

If the game is complete, and everyone is gone prior to 10, please text one of the following individuals and they will cut off the lights.  Our goal is to get them off as soon as we can to be a good steward for our community.

  Ben Jones – 434-825-8731

 Justin Byrd – 571-329-1399

You should not tamper with the switches on the control box or within the control box.  These are set so we can manage the lights remotely.

We will strive to schedule all rookie and above teams to play a night game at least once per the spring season.

We’ve tried to target the rookie games for Friday nights, so the youngest age group isn’t up as late playing on a school night.

Majors baseball may have a few games scheduled as it is one of two fields with 70 ft bases and none of the other divisions have that limitation.

We will strive to mix up the teams scheduled for the 5pm practice so the same team isn’t continuously stuck in that time slot.
